Fishery @ Mandevu Integrated farm
The Fishery Unit produces healthy fingerlings and grows some using our earth ponds, creating a supply chain to Mama Mandevu’s restaurant and creating inspiration for the aquaculture farming.
FISH GROWING
Mandevu Integrated Farm, under the Fishery Unit, grows healthy and quality fish using 5 earth ponds, supplying the fish to Mama Mandevu’s kitchen and sold fresh on demand.
We grow the following fish species;
- Oreochromis shiranus - Chambo
- Oreochromis karongae - Chambo
- Tilapia rendalli - Chambo
- Clarius gariepinus – Catfish
fingerling PRODUCTION
The Fishery Unit also produces fingerlings using our well designed concrete fish ponds and sells healthy fingerlings to local fish farmers and fishery companies.
At the moment the farm breeds the following fish species;
